Movement and Change (quotes and poem)

“Consciousness is only possible through change; change is only possible through movement.”
Aldous Huxley, The Art of Seeing

“Well, I always know what I want. And when you know what you want–you go toward it. Sometimes you go very fast, and sometimes only an inch a year. Perhaps you feel happier when you go fast. I don’t know. I’ve forgotten the difference long ago, because it really doesn’t matter, so long as you move.”
Ayn Rand, We the Living

“If you have only one smile in you, give it to the people you love. Don’t be surly at home, then go out in the street and start grinning ‘Good morning’ at total strangers.”
Maya Angelou

If nothing ever changed, there’d be no butterflies.  ~Author Unknown

Movement and Change

I am movement and change
I wonder what is on the horizon
I hear the outbursts of nature’s existence
I see the tree of life
I want to pursuit great emprises
I am movement and change

I pretend to fly with the birds
I feel the essence of all things
I touch all the lovely chrysanthemums
I worry I will forget your face
I cry knowing things will never be the same
I am movement and change

I understand there can be growth through differences
I say I won’t let the chill of a winters breeze ice my heart
I dream of rising with honeysuckles in the late spring
I try to see the beauty in all things
I hope to drift and uplift along the way
I am movement and change
